BEFARD at glasstec 2026 in Düsseldorf
BEFARD will be at glasstec in Düsseldorf from 20 to 23 October 2026. We invite professionals involved in transporting and installing glass, windows and large glazing units to visit our stand. It is an opportunity to explore BEFARD lifting equipment and discuss the right solution for a specific installation project.
Visit BEFARD in Hall 10, Stand H68
Where can you find us? At Messe Düsseldorf, Hall 10, Stand H68. The exhibition runs from Tuesday 20 October to Friday 23 October. If you are attending glasstec, stop by to discuss how to lift, move and position heavy glass units when space on a construction site or inside a building is limited.
Mini cranes for lifting large glass units
When installing large glazing units, weight is only part of the challenge. The crane also needs to reach the work area and provide sufficient height and reach to position the load. At glasstec, we will be discussing two models from the BEFARD TB range.
The BEFARD TB10002 has a maximum lifting capacity of 6,000 kg and a transport width of 79 cm. This makes it worth considering for heavy loads and sites with restricted access. Where working at height is the main challenge, the BEFARD TB7002 is another option. With the appropriate equipment, it offers a maximum vertical reach of 18.8 m, while its transport width is just 78 cm. These maximum figures must always be assessed in relation to the actual reach required, machine configuration and setup conditions.
BEFARD XM series: compact access, different lifting options
Not every glazing installation calls for the largest crane. Narrow gates, doorways and limited room to manoeuvre can determine which machine is suitable. The BEFARD XM1600, BEFARD XM1200 and BEFARD XM800 all have a transport width of 78 cm, but their capabilities on site differ.
The XM1600 features a hydraulic jib, an additional boom section that helps position loads when the crane cannot be placed directly below the installation point. In Pick & Carry mode, the XM1200 can transport loads weighing up to 1,200 kg. The XM800 has a lower transport height of 145 cm. These differences matter when planning the access route and the lift itself. The weight, dimensions and final position of the element also need to be taken into account.
Glass installation robot and vacuum lifters
Moving a glass pane is only one part of the job. It then needs to be positioned accurately. The BEFARD XC820 is a wheeled installation robot for glass and windows, with a maximum lifting capacity of 820 kg. Its suction cup frame can be shifted sideways to help align the unit within the installation opening. Whether it is suitable for a particular job also depends on working reach and site access.
We will also be discussing vacuum lifters for glass and windows. Choosing a lifter depends on the weight and dimensions of the pane, as well as how it needs to be lifted. It is important to assess the complete setup: the vacuum lifter, the lifting machine, access to the work area and how the element will be positioned safely. At the show, we can talk through the details of your project.
Planning a glazing installation? Let’s talk at glasstec
If you have a glazing project coming up, bring a few key details: the weight and dimensions of the element, the installation height, the distance from the crane’s setup position to the installation point, and the width of the narrowest access route. A site photo or a simple sketch can also help. This information makes it easier to compare possible solutions and identify which technical parameters still need to be checked before selecting equipment.
